Internships are often described as the bridge between academic knowledge and professional life. For me, my internship at Abhyaz was not just about applying what I had studied, but also about discovering new skills, working on real projects, and understanding the dynamics of a professional environment.
Starting the Journey
When I joined Abhyaz as a Data Analyst Intern, I was both excited and a little nervous. Coming from a background in Biotechnology, I was eager to see how my knowledge could be applied in real-world projects. The initial days were about getting familiar with the tools, processes, and workflows, while gradually stepping into tasks that had a direct impact on operations.
Key Projects I Worked On
During the course of my internship, I had the opportunity to contribute to several meaningful projects at Abhyaz:
Data Collection and Mapping – Gathering, cleaning, and aligning data for smooth analysis.
CRM Module Cleanup – Working on Leads, Accounts, Candidates, and Potentials modules to ensure data accuracy and remove duplicates.
Dashboard Design – Building dashboards for Potentials, Social Media, and Subverticals (Weekly and Quarterly insights).
Community Building – Designing stakeholder engagement flows for learners, interns, alumni, mentors, and partners.
Data Visualization – Transforming raw data into clear, actionable insights using charts and dashboards.
Meeting Documentation – Preparing concise minutes of meetings (MoM) to track decisions and actions.
These projects gave me hands-on exposure to how structured data management and visualization drive better decision-making.
Skills I Gained
This internship at Abhyaz helped me enhance both my technical and professional skills, including:
CRM (Zoho) administration and customization
Data cleaning and deduplication
Dashboard building and visualization
Collaboration and stakeholder communication
Documentation and reporting
Beyond technical expertise, I also learned the importance of adaptability, attention to detail, and clear communication.
Mentorship and Support
One of the highlights of my journey was the constant guidance and encouragement I received from my mentors. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Keerthy Thankan and Swarnalakshmi Kathiresan, whose mentorship played a key role in shaping my learning experience. Their feedback, patience, and motivation made it easier for me to grow both professionally and personally.
Looking Ahead
As I complete this internship, I feel more confident and prepared to take the next step in my career. My passion for working with data and creating meaningful insights has only grown stronger. I look forward to applying what I’ve learned and continuing this journey of growth and exploration.
Final Thoughts
Internships are not just about gaining work experience—they are about self-discovery, skill-building, and mentorship. My journey with Abhyaz has been a stepping stone that helped me move closer to my professional goals while enjoying the process of learning something new every day.
