As I look back on my three-month journey with Abhyaz, I’m grateful for the opportunities that helped me grow technically and professionally. Coming from a Mechanical Engineering background, this internship served as a gateway into the world of data analytics, CRM processes, and cross-functional teamwork. Abhyaz gave me the platform to challenge myself, learn by doing, and contribute meaningfully to real projects.
Here’s a reflection of my key contributions and takeaways.
Data Collection and Mapping: Laying the Groundwork
One of my initial tasks involved collecting data about educational institutes and mapping it accurately to CRM fields. This required understanding field dependencies, ensuring data consistency, and aligning it with existing workflows. It sharpened my skills in data structuring, standardization, and CRM onboarding logic—key fundamentals in any data-centric role.
Creating Smart Forms with CRM Sync
I designed and implemented Zoho Forms with backend automation for:
- Whitepaper Request Submissions: Capturing structured lead data
- CRM Integration: Mapping form responses to CRM modules with validation and real-time sync
Data Hygiene in Action: Deduplication in Zoho CRM & Recruit
To improve data quality, I worked on identifying and resolving duplicate records in both Zoho CRM and Zoho Recruit. I used built-in tools and manual review to clean up candidate and lead records.
This task enhanced my attention to detail, appreciation for data hygiene, and understanding of how clean data improves reporting and decision-making.
Workflow Rules & Lead Assignment: Building Automation
One of the most rewarding tasks was setting up auto-response workflows and lead routing in Zoho CRM. I:
- Automated email acknowledgments for new leads
- Configured lead assignment logic based on region and interest
This taught me how to implement trigger-based workflows, logical branching, and tailor CRM processes to business needs.
Use Case Diagram Development: Bridging Analysis and Execution
To support system design tasks, I created use case diagrams to visually represent user interactions with different modules. This helped me connect business analysis with technical documentation, improving my systems thinking and communication clarity.
Webform to Case Integration: Enhancing Customer Support
I implemented Webform to Case conversion in Zoho CRM to auto-create support cases from customer inputs. The system was configured to:
- Assign ownership automatically
- Trigger acknowledgment messages
- Ensure seamless tracking of customer queries
This task highlighted how automation enhances responsiveness and improves service workflows.
Unified Sales Dashboard: Visualizing Success
I developed a Unified Sales Dashboard in Zoho Analytics that pulled together metrics from deals, sales stages, and reps. I:
- Built custom reports and visual charts
- Enabled dynamic filters
- Tracked trends and performance insights
This project combined everything I had learned—data cleanliness, business logic, and storytelling through visualization.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Personal and Professional Growth
Throughout the internship, I worked with a diverse, global team and received support from mentors who helped shape my deliverables. I learned the value of clear documentation, regular updates, and collaborative problem-solving in a remote environment.
Final Thoughts: A Strong Foundation for the Future
In these three months, I worked on seven key areas across CRM systems, automation, analytics, and team coordination. Each project helped me build confidence, structure my approach, and align my efforts with real business goals.
Abhyaz has not only strengthened my technical skills—it has helped me become a more adaptable, responsible, and forward-thinking professional. I am deeply thankful to my mentors and the Abhyaz community for guiding me through this journey. This internship wasn’t just a learning opportunity—it was a launchpad toward the kind of analyst I aspire to become.
