One Month at Abhyaz: My Creative Leap into Professional Design
Reflecting on my one-month internship at Abhyaz MTab, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to
contribute to a real-world professional environment as a Canva Designer Intern. As a final-year B.Tech
student from GITAM University, Hyderabad, and a Canva user for over three years, this internship
marked my first step into the corporate world of design. This journey not only enhanced my design
skills but also gave me insights into branding, digital communication, and collaborative work. Here
are some of the key takeaways from my enriching experience.
Designing Visual Stories – Canva & Zoho Projects
Throughout my internship, I worked on multiple projects that allowed me to use my creativity to its
fullest while aligning with brand requirements and campaign goals. Some of my major contributions
included:
• Zoho Sites Poster
A vibrant, informative poster created to support the Zoho Sites project campaign. This design
required balancing branding consistency with visual appeal to effectively communicate the
intended message.
• Zoho Recruit Series 2 video
I created an engaging social media reel explaining the 'Standard Job Description' feature in
Zoho Recruit. This involved storyboarding, visual flow planning, and dynamic design creation,
aligning with the company’s digital outreach strategy.
• Zoho CRM Series 6 video
For the CRM project, I designed visual elements and layouts that were integrated into a
LinkedIn explainer video. This task deepened my understanding of professional audience
targeting and platform-specific design.
• Zoho One Poster
Another creative challenge where I developed an informative poster to promote Zoho One,
focusing on clarity, hierarchy, and brand integration.
These tasks gave me hands-on experience in professional content design and helped me understand
how good design supports product visibility and user engagement.
Real-World Collaboration and Mentorship
Working in a remote, structured internship environment was a new and valuable experience. I
learned how to:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Meet design deadlines under real-world constraints
• Receive and implement design feedback constructively
I am especially thankful to my mentor, Sarathi, whose continuous guidance and feedback helped me
improve my visual storytelling skills and understand the expectations of a professional design
environment.
Final Reflections: Confidence, Creativity, and Career Readiness
My internship at Abhyaz MTab was more than just a summer learning opportunity—it was a bridge
to the professional world. From turning briefs into visual content to understanding brand language
and managing multiple deliverables, every experience boosted my confidence and skill set.
I leave this internship more prepared, inspired, and motivated to take on future design challenges. A
big thank you to the entire Abhyaz team for making this journey so impactful!
