About Me

I am Sriramya, an L&D enthusiast with an MBA in HR. I was on a career break for more than 10 years. While I was actively looking out for work opportunities, I came across Abhyaz Internships on LinkedIn and was instantly hooked by their unique proposition for skill development through a virtual internship. The 3-month internship was open for job seekers like me looking for a career restart.

Although hesitant about the virtual setup and with a lot of apprehension in my mind, I applied for the internship. From that point on, the entire process flow was very smoothly handled by Abhyaz HR team right through selection via a personal portfolio evaluation and sample task presentation, onboarding and transfer to the team with whom I would work.

Virtual Internship – A Practical Approach

The virtual office setup is very easy to understand and operate. Team meeting and breakout rooms for respective departments are available which helped immensely in adapting to the online work flow and handling everyday tasks.

I was fortunate to have amazing mentors who welcomed me, made me ease in to the work flow, and conveyed what was expected from me clearly. Each week started with a new task statement, giving us time to explore and come up with a suitable solution under the guidance of the mentors, execute the task and present the task submission for review. My mentors supported me throughout the internship, valued my inputs and instilled confidence in my abilities.

Skill Building On The Job

During the course of my Internship, I have worked extensively on the Moodle LMS, allowing me to get an experience in the end-to-end management of Learning Systems.

The skills that I learnt are: Course creation, Enrolment of participants, Adding e-learning content and other interactive learning resources, Creating engaging assessments and quizzes, collecting feedback through surveys, Generating reports – user reports, grade reports and activity completion reports, allowing access to course completion certificates, Creating Competency frameworks and Learning Plans for the students, Generating SCORM packages for e-learning content and making them accessible across Moodle instances using LTI tools.

360 Degree Professional Development

Apart from the L&D task-related skills that I could learn on-the-job, I could understand the process of onboarding of students, the various technological offerings of the company to a wide range of external stakeholders from students, faculty, other Engineering concerns like manufacturers and Talent Investors and using tools like Zoho Applications, MS-Office suite & Lumi for H5P content creation. The internship gave me an opportunity to have an insider view of how an organization functions, how valuable inter-departmental collaboration is, to work towards the common goal.

Conclusion

I would recommend Abhyaz Internships for anyone who is keen on learning the skills to be job-ready, to have a great experience working in a virtual office and gain the confidence of professional accomplishment.

Thank you Abhyaz for giving me an unforgettable learning experience!
